Cool by name, cool by nature!
The whole team were thrilled to see Mrs E.C. York's Coolmoyne (2016 gelding by Ocovango) win the three-mile handicap chase at Hexham on the 4th May under a great ride from Callum Bewley.
He was our first runner of the 2024/24 National Hunt season, so hopefully that bodes very well indeed for the rest of the new term!
Although he's always been a reliably consistent horse with numerous placings, he could be said to have been unlucky not to win a couple of times in the past and everyone was delighted that he finally got his moment in the sun.
A strong round of jumping from the front end of the field kept Coolmoyne in prime position to kick on in the closing stages, staying on to win in good style.
He is a real gentleman and a pleasure to have on the yard, and there'll be many more good days out to be had with him.
First runner of the 2024/25 season, first winner! 🥇
COOLMOYNE has been unlucky not to win a few times before, so you can imagine how we all felt watching him get there yesterday 🥳
Every winner means so much to a small stable, and this was no exception.
Well done, Cooley! 🥕 pic.twitter.com/rJ5oG2bmNd
