The new season explodes into life!

The 20016/17 season was always going to be very difficult to follow but was made very frustrating by a series of places and very bad weather. However 2018/19 has started with 2 wins for the very patient Northumberland Racing Club 2.

My Escapade came back from a break of 502 days having shown plenty of promise before then. With Amie Waugh on board she came an excellent third at Perth and quickly followed this up with a win back there over the same distance of 2m4f. She then went to Cartmel where Amie rode a tactically astute race . Despite being a 2m6f race, the jockeys jumped off at 2m pace so Amie dropped in quietly behind only to pounce on the final bend and take the rail to win by by 8 lengths

The yard then had both Boric and My Escapade in the the 3m5f veterans' race and whilst Callum Bewley took Boric to the front, Amie settled Total Assets in rear, as seems to be the way at Cartmel, the leaders went of at a frenetic pace. Boric held the front whilst Amie brought Total Assets through quietly to join battle at the second last bend . They were both contesting the lead but eventually finished, Boris 2nd and Total Assets 3rd.

So that was a 1,2,3 at Cartmel! Happy days in the blazing sunshine and melting Cartmel sticky toffee pudding! Many thanks to all the sponsors who help put on a terrific day's racing at the unique Cartmel Races.
