In Boric, we had our first ever runner in a Listed Race at the prestigious Fighting Fifth meeting at Newcastle on Saturday.
The At The Races Rehearsal Handicap Steeple Chase (Class1)(Listed Race) had previously been won by Sue Smith's Wakanda in 2015. Boric and Wakanda lead the field until the fifth last where Boric took up the running and Wakanda dropped back. With a magnificent display of jumping, he maintained the lead until headed at the 3rd last but stayed on well to keep 4th behind horses rated up to 24lbs higher than him.
A fabulous day to be at the races with The Northumberland Racing Club enjoying seeing their horse, No Boundaries, secure a running on 4th which will hopefully now qualify him for a rating.
